The Hartwell Scientist
At Hartwell, we share the vision of everyone believing that they are a Scientist. This forms a vital part of our Science lessons, as it provides children with the self-belief and confidence that what they do helps them to not only be engaged in our Science lessons but also replicates what real scientists do in the working environment to find out about the world and life around us.
After consulting with pupils and staff, we agreed on the following principles that make up the ‘Hartwell Scientist’.
We use these principles in our lessons to help us engage with our learning. Teachers and children refer to these in lessons to help make decisions to create and be involved in enquiries and investigations. It also helps us to think and behave like scientists to find out about the world and the life around us.
Here are some photos of the ‘Hartwell Scientist’ in action across our school (photos to come).
